JELD-WEN has appointed four new apprentices at its window frame factory in Melton Mowbray.
James Wakely, Chris Simmons, Joshua Murphy and James Kidger are undertaking two-year NVQ courses with JELD-WEN, working a four-day shift at the site and spending the fifth carrying out academic training for their new roles at Leicester College.
Mr Kidger is training to become a qualified maintenance engineer, while Messrs Simmons, Wakely and Murphy are training as wood machinists.
“We are always keen to invest in new talent and the four new apprentices have a great opportunity to put their skills to good use,” said JELD-WEN’s reliability manager Shaun Handley.
“We are looking forward to seeing them progress within the business.”
After their first year, the four apprentices will be given more in-depth training for their respective jobs, including lathe-work and working to specification.
