The first national FSC Friday is to be staged in the UK on September 26 by the Forest Stewardship Council.

The aim is to raise awareness of the FSC logo and encourage potential customers to look for the logo when buying wood or paper products.

Several FSC certified companies will be offering discounts on FSC ranges such as Warren Evans giving a 10% discount on its bespoke beds.

“The FSC logo is appearing on a growing number of products,” said FSC UK marketing officer Rosie Teasdale.

“As well as garden furniture and timber for DIY, the logo can now be seen on books, magazines, tissues, food packaging, wooden toys and much more.

“We want to use FSC Friday to make people more aware of the importance of responsible forestry and the role of the FSC,” she added.
