Treatment Services Ltd has supplied its first Spinnaker PC Control system written for the UK market to Donaldson Timber Engineering (DTE) at Ilkeston.

The PC Control System, for both high-pressure and low-pressure timber treatment, enables DTE to have comprehensive data on its timber treating.

DTE Ilkeston manager Steve Blackburn said Spinnaker’s graphs and stock control reports allowed him to see exactly how timber had been treated.

“Of course, this gives our customers confidence that the treatment process used is the most economical available,” he said. “

He said the upgrade allowed DTE to offer a 24-hour turnaround on double-vacuum timber timber treatment.

Meanwhile, Treatment Services is preparing for further expansion following its move to a new site near Lincoln last year.

It is making building alterations to form a training centre for the timber industry where companies can learn about how treatment plants operate, as well as PLC and PC control systems. A test plant will also be set up so merchants and importers can independently test new treatment fluids.
