Andrew Waugh, of Waugh Thistleton Architects, has completed the line-up of presenters for TTJ’s Wood Futures conference, held in London on November 6.

The conference, at the Royal Festival Hall on November 6, focuses on the government’s zero carbon target for UK house building and its implications on the timber and wood products supply chain.

Mr Waugh will discuss his practice’s work on the Stadthaus in Shoreditch, the world’s tallest residential timber building which uses Austrian-made prefabricated cross-laminated timber panels. He will also look at the potential of engineered wood in the UK’s drive for sustainable construction

Other speakers at the conference are Bob Ledsome, deputy director of climate change and sustainable development at the Department for Communities and Local Government; Wayne Hemingway, chair of the Building for Life initiative; Tim Pollard, Wolseley’s head of sustainability; Francis Rottenburg, Carbon Trust consultant; Rupert Scott, TRADA’s codes and standards consultant; Ben Cook, Barratt Developments’ senior land manager; Dr Paul Newman, technical director at Kingspan Off-Site; and Neil Jefferson, general manager of the National House-Building Council and chief executive of the new Zero Carbon Hub.
