Masonite Beams’ €10m I-joist factory in Sweden has been officially opened by the country’s minister for enterprise.
Moud Olofsson opened the facility at a ceremony attended by more than 170 guests from across Europe.
The factory I-joist line and finger-jointer have a line speed of 120m per minute, giving an annual production capacity of 24 million metres of I-joists.
Masonite Beams‘ production will include asymmetrical I-joists where the dimensions of the upper and lower flanges differ, as well as joists featuring a flange with a tailored section rather than the normal square shape.
Parent company Byggma has made a heavy investment in Masonite Beams and has appointed a new UK team as it looks to make a big impression on the British market.
A dedicated UK website has also been launched at www.masonitebeams.co.uk.
