Professor Robson joined the staff of the Newton Rigg Campus, Penrith, last summer, after nearly 15 years of leading forest research around the world.
He was previously deputy chief of the Division of Forest Biosciences for CSIRO, Australia’s national research organisation, and helped establish the national Co-operative Research Centre for bushfire research.
Previous posts include head of the Netherlands’ Centre for Timber Research and a founding research manager at the BioComposites Centre in North Wales.
