Justin Habibulla, executive director of the Forest Products Association of Guyana, reported strong levels of interest in his country’s timber and specific wood products such as marine timbers, decking, roof shingles and external cladding. “We’ve had a lot of enquiries about who the UK stockists are, but also about whether timber or products can be supplied direct,” he said.

“We’ve been promoting some of Guyana’s lesser known species, such as fukadi and limonaballi, as well as more familiar species such as Guyana cherry, soft wallaba (winewood), greenheart and kabukalli,” he added.
