RK Timber Engineering has been merged into Pasquill Roof Trusses in order to strengthening the roof truss manufacturer’s market position and provide a more extensive service to customers.

Pasquill managing director Stuart McKill said the creation of the new-look company followed a year of rapid change which, although including the closure of its Wardle site and the loss of over 100 employees, was punctuated with many positives.

Continued professional development of its staff is creating a knowledge base for the entire Saint-Gobain Building Distribution group to call on, he said, and the combined expertise is allowing Pasquill to extend beyond its traditional roof truss market. This includes the provision of information and products for floors and walls, providing a “whole house solution”.

It is also preparing to open two new branches in Taunton and Bodmin during early 2009 to complete its national coverage.

“Despite the market we have created a lot of opportunity for ourselves as we move into 2009,” said Mr McKill.

“And hence the logic behind the rebrand and really maximising what we have by way of network, by way of experience and knowledge under the Pasquill banner.”
