The exports were up 1.9% in volume and by 1.4% in value compared with 2005.

Lumber, veneer, boules, poles, pegs, plywood and billet accounted for 88% of the total value and 91.5% of the volume. The rest were exports of secondary wood products.

Europe remained the strongest market for Ghana, accounting for 40.7% and 47.8% of the total export value and volume.

India is the single largest market with a 16% share of the export value, while US exports dipped 39% in value terms from a year ago.
