Siberian larch has been used to clad a £1.3m GP surgery in Bexhill.

DRP Architects’ project features a butterfly roof and houses waiting rooms pharmacy, administration and minor surgery services over two floors. A single storey forms the GP and nurses’ accommodation, including examination rooms.

Untreated Siberian larch starts at first floor level and extends across to cover the deep soffits.

Large overhanging eaves were designed because youths used to climb on the roof of the former surgery due to a steep bank at the rear.
