The Timber Trade Federation (TTF) is using Ecobuild to issue its new fact sheet, underlining the scale and importance of the UK timber sector – and also the extent to which it’s been affected by the recession.
Compiled with TRADA and wood for good, the publication says that UK timber imports will be down 4 million m³ this year at 14 millon m³. It lists the source of wood and wood products coming into the country and also details the main markets.
“Exhibiting at Ecobuild is part of the industry’s long-standing commitment to increasing the profile of sustainable timber,” said TTF chief executive John White. “It’s an excellent forum for a conversation about the future of timber and sustainable building, especially considering today’s tough industry conditions.”
Ecobuild takes place at Earl’s Court, London from March 3-5. The TTF’s stand is TW28.
