International Timber has teamed up with architects ZEDfactory to create a new concept in flexible, affordable and sustainable accommodation.

LandARK, which will be showcased at Ecobuild at London’s Earls Court from March 3-5, is built entirely from timber supplied by International Timber and combines contemporary design with medieval construction methods – components are held together by timber wedges.

The modular structure measures 9x7m, is constructed from certified softwood and rests on certified timber sleepers. The building also features FSC certified Caberfloor flooring from Norbord and an outdoor deck made from International Timber’s Thermowood ZeroDeck.

LandARK is suitable as a home, holiday cabin or home office and, said International Timber’s product and market director Steve Rogers, “even has the potential to be used by aid agencies in disaster areas”.
