This week’s Ecobuild exhibition showed that visitors and exhibitors were largely undeterred by the economic recession as both turned out in force for the showcase for environmentally-friendly building products and systems.

The show, which occupied both halls at Earls Court for the first time in its five-year history, was on target to achieve its predicted 30,000 visitors.

ZedFactory’s stand proved to be a visitor Magnet, demonstrating its updated Zero Carbon House and it’s new, futuristic LandARK.

Built entirely from timber supplied by International Timber, the modular structure combines contemporary design with medieval construction methods and is suitable as a home, holiday cabin or home office.

Among the other launches at the show were BSW’s revolutionary new build system, Pi and Finnforest’s low energy wall system.

The show also featured a dedicated timber area, Timber Works, backed by TRADA, the TTF and wood for good.

A full report on Ecobuild will appear in the next issue.
