Stairways Group has sold its two sites in Leamington Spa and will relocate the operations to new premises in Southam.
Manufacture of doorsets and door related products will move to the 24,000ft² premises, that will become the group’s flagship site. It will be fully operational by June.
Stairways secured a significant deal to sell its units with a food processing company based on the same Leamington Spa trading estate. The money will enable the group to settle all loans and outstanding charges against the company.
“We are all very excited by the move, particularly as the last six months has presented a difficult set of trading circumstances for all within the industry,” said joint managing director and owner of the group Neil Stevens.
The new location, situated 6.5 miles from the existing sites, will be fitted with a dust extraction unit and wood burner which will heat the factory and the offices, reducing the group’s carbon footprint as well as hosting a large showcase area with demonstration facilities.
Stairways also has manufacturing sites in Walsall and Welshpool.
