The Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) schemes has announced the latest in its series of seminars entitled “Responsible timber procurement: good for business and the environment”.

The seminar, which is designed to provide a better understanding of chain of custody and certification issues for those manufacturing and trading in timber products is sponsored by BM TRADA Certification. Speakers will include Peter Latham, chairman of PEFC UK; Alun Watkins, from the Furniture Industry Association; Sofie Tind Neilson from ProForest (which co-ordinates the government’s Central Point of Expertise on Timber procurement – CPET); and Alasdair McGregor, from BM TRADA.

The seminar will take place on May 12 at The Victory Services Club in London and attendance is free.
