Timbmet has decided to close its two Rochdale depots, resulting in job losses in production, distribution and administration.
The decision follows an in-depth review of its manufacturing and distribution sites and the conclusion of consultation with staff.
Sales staff will continue to operate from the Chichester Street site until it is sold.
Production will progressively switch to Timbmet’s other facilities over the coming weeks. Deliveries and order picking will consolidate for efficiency to Timbmet’s other depots from May 1.
Final closure of both Rochdale sites will take place towards the end of June.
