Stora Enso Timber UK has boosted the amount of certified timber sold at its recently opened Immingham service centre to 75% following the approval of PEFC and FSC chain of custody certificates.

BM Trada Certification granted the certificates in September for PEFC and FSC products produced at Stora Enso Timber’s sawmills in Austria, the Czech Republic, Finland and Sweden.

Stora Enso Timber UK managing director Erkki Välikangas said: “UK government procurement policies require that only timber from legal and sustainable sources should be used for publicly funded projects. Thus there is an increasing need for certified wood products in the UK market and Stora Enso Timber can now better meet this need.”
