Machinery Safety Services is going back to its commercial roots by offering a safety inspection service for woodworking businesses.

The Sittingbourne-based company is taking its safety skills accrued from its experience in the education sector, where the bulk of its business has been based.

“We originally offered a repair service to commercial and industrial businesses, but a chance meeting in the early 1990s saw us start to work with schools and local education authorities, testing and inspecting woodwork machines,” said company director Roger Waltham.

“Now we want to take our safety knowledge and expertise back to industry, offering on-site safety inspection services,” added Mr Waltham “to make sure companies are complying with all the current safety regulations for their machinery and workshops.”

The service starts with a compliance and general safety inspection of each machine, along with a short-form report relating to the general workshop envi-ronment. Following that, a full on-site safety upgrade service is available.
