Warrington Fire Research, the timber testing laboratory, has bought APT Labora-tories for an undisclosed sum.
The purchase from Ingersoll Rand Security and Safety Ltd brings Warrington the mechanical testing laboratory of Willenhall-based APT as well as its expertise in the testing of architectural and joinery hardware to British and European standards.
Geoff Deakin, managing director of Warrington Fire Research Group, said: ‘There is significant synergy between Warrington Fire Research Group’s core activities of fire safety testing and certification and APT’s activities. Transferring ownership of APT to us will provide a platform for exciting new expansion and development.’
