Hardwood specialist Venables Brothers Ltd celebrates its 10th anniversary this year and, as part of its celebrations, is donating one of its hand-made solid oak bureaus to the Timber Trades’ Benevolent Society as a Christmas raffle prize.
The English oak bureau, which is worth more than £2,000, features traditional secret cupboards, hand-cut mortice and tenon joints, as well as solid oak draw bottoms. It is finished with bees wax.
The TTBS is holding a national draw for the piece, which will take place at the North West TTBS Christmas lunch on December 16 at Liverpool’s Adelphi Hotel.
