Klenk Holz AG has realigned its sales and marketing by establishing a separate business unit and distribution channel for trade customers in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Klenk decided on the move after a series of positive discussions with trade organisations in the countries. Klenk’s sales force in trade and DIY business has been increased.

As a consequence, Klenk is withdrawing from small-scale direct sales. Industrial wood building and timber frame house business are unchanged and are dealt with directly by Klenk.

Klenk, like many of Germany’s sawmills, has found business difficult in the recession and recently sacrificed its French sawmilling business to safeguard its German mills.
