Top-end speaker manufacturer Bose has invested in a Talbotts wood energy system to reduce wood waste and power costs.

BOSE GP Ireland, whose speakers incorporate wave sound technology, purchased a Talbott C6 1MW Warm Air system to provide 50,000ft2 space heating in the County Monaghan factory.

Approximately 4,800kg of factory wood waste is fed daily to the system, which includes a 70m3 storage silo, Untha LR 1400 shredder, discharge and C6 warm air heater.

BOSE benefited from securing a Sustainable Energy Ireland grant towards purchasing the equipment, with the result that the installation will achieve a pay-back on capital investment within two years.
