MDF mouldings manufacturer W Howard has opened its new Thurrock depot and acquired Welsh mouldings specialist Polyco Ltd.
Mayor of Thurrock councillor Maureen Pearce cut the ribbon on the new £1m collection and distribution depot on August 21. Customers also attended the event at the site, which will hold an almost identical stockholding to the company’s Manchester facility.
W Howard has also acquired Powys-based Polyco, which manufactures veneered, laminated, paper- and foil-wrapped MDF and chipboard mouldings. The acquisition adds laminated products to W Howard’s Primer Mould+Plus portfolio, extending the group’s overall core range more than 200 products.
“We hope the combined efforts of the new depot, Polyco and our existing site will give our customers easier access to a wider range of products,” said W Howard managing director Jonathan Grant.
