A conference entitled “The Value of Sustainable Timber in Construction” is to be held this month by The Timber Trade Federation in London.
Aimed at architects, specifiers, construction companies, public sector buyers and policy and sustainable timber specialists, the event will demonstrate how using timber in construction can support sustainability.
Themes explored include the low embodied CO2 and thermal properties of timber.
Delegates will also hear about the government’s updated timber procurement policy to help them understand the pitfalls of procuring wood from unsustainable sources.
Sponsors include the Department for International Development, TRADA Technology, Jacobs Engineering UK, the Environmental Investigation Agency and the Construction Industry Environmental Forum.
