New Zealand lumber exports to the US increased by NZ$36.1m between September and November, 2001 compared to the same period in 2000.

The total value of US exports was NZ$107.8m, with Australia the next biggest at NZ$59.9m.

Exports to Japan fell by NZ$13.9m to NZ$18.5m for the November quarter, while China and Hong Kong business increased to NZ$17m.

Log exports to Japan were down 39% but increased to Korea by 34% and to China by 184%.
