Self-employed timber frame erector Barty Kennedy and his team have become the first crew in Ireland to be certified under the City & Guilds-accredited timber frame site erectors training course run by the Timber Frame Skillnet. They were presented with their certificates by Philip Mahony, manager of the Irish Timber Frame Manufacturers’ Association.
The Southern Forest Products Association has elected new officers. They are chairman Adrian Blocker, West Fraser Inc; vice-chairman Joe Patton, Westervelt Lumber; and treasurer Fritz Mason, Georgia-Pacific. Outgoing chairman Patrick Harrigan of Harrigan Lumber Co will serve as immediate past chairman.
