Swedish state forestry company Sveaskog has renegotiated supply contracts with family-owned sawmill Krekula & Lauri and VIDA.
The new contracts represent a total volume of 120,000m³.
The deal with Krekula & Lauri consolidates Sveaskog’s role as the mill’s largest log supplier and came after “protracted haggling”, according to Sveaskog representative Erik Levén.
Most of the raw material will come from Sveaskog’s own forests, but one-third of the volume will also be purchased from private forest owners in order to satisfy the mill’s demand for pine.
Meanwhile, the supply deal with VIDA in Gotaland is for a greater volume than last year and is worth about SKr60-70m.
