Further integration between ITW Industry and its Cullen Building Products business has simplified deliveries for group customers, with multiple brands now able to be shipped together.

Since the start of 2010, Cullen’s 100,000ft² site at Glenrothes has also been distributing Alpine nailplates and Paslode, Duo-Fast, Haubold, SPIT and Toolmatic brands for the offsite construction sector in a move which will enable customers to receive Cullen and ITW group products in one shipment.

US-based ITW, whose UK business ITW Alpine is located in Truro, acquired Cullen in October 2008, expanding its range of fastening solutions and building products for offsite timber construction.

ITW has been gradually integrating the two businesses in the UK and now all group products are distributed from Cullen’s Glenrothes facility. Previously, ITW offsite products and tools were distributed from Crawley and some products also shipped from Truro.

The company has introduced a similar distribution solution in its Irish business, with all brands being shipped from Cullen’s Kells site.

Cullen and ITW orders are still dealt with separately and the group is working towards complete integration – one-stop shop ordering.

ITW said its combination with Cullen provided a complete concept to production solution for offsite construction including software, components, fasteners and equipment.

Cullen general manager Doug Cullen stepped down last year.
