MiTek Industries Europe has teamed up with Autodesk Incorporated to provide a single software solution for the design, estimating and manufacture of all structural timber components.
Mitek’s WoodEngine modules will be combined with Autodesk Architectural Desktop 2006 to provide timber and log home manufacturers with a fast method of designing a full 3D model of timber structures, from foundations right up to engineered roof trusses.
The solution is aimed at reducing the turnaround time of timber structures from order to manufacture.
Les Wasserstein, technical director for MiTek’s Europe and Africa operations, said: “Autodesk Architectural Desktop 2006 and WoodEngine integrate the professional disciplines of architecture, structural engineering, estimating and manufacture through a single building model.”
