Cash-strapped Canadian lumber company Doman Industries Ltd has been granted an extension to a creditor protection order by the Supreme Court of British Columbia.
The company sought the extension because further discussions are needed with its principal unsecured creditors and holders of unsecured notes before it can present a reorganisation plan to the court. The extension runs until July 23.
Doman came under creditor protection in November 2002 after failing to keep up with payments on its C$1bn debt.
