Regent, the latest in A Proctor’s range of guaranteed timber cladding, took centre stage in its Ecobuild display.
The Blairgowie heat and sound insulation and breather membrane specialist, which launched its first wood cladding three years ago, has worked closely with Osmose in developing the new product.
Regent is treated with the latter’s MicroPro microporous copper preservative giving, says Proctor, better paint and stain stability, improved corrosion protection and enabling it to offer a 15-year warranty against rot and decay.
According to business manager Duncan Kirkwood, the new product sits well with the company’s existing cladding ranges – Canadian spruce Maibec, which has a 50-year warranty, and Royale, which is treated with the Osmose hot oil process and guaranteed for 30 years.
Managing director Alan Proctor said the company is also focused on packaging its cladding range with complementary insulation products and systems in its range, to provide “total cladding solutions”. “It’s an exciting time in the cladding market,” he said. “We’re trying to broaden the choice, offer the services of a big technical team to advise customers on their technical options and bring more architectural value into it.”
