Scottish timber frame manufacturer Lomond Timber Frame has reported new contracts worth £250,000.
Fife-based Lomond, part of the Lomond Group, says the contracts include construction of several very large private houses in Scotland, including a 535m² bungalow (5,724ft²).
“Winning a quarter of a million pounds worth of contracts so early in 2010 is a really positive start,” said Stuart Rennie, Lomond Timber Frame managing director.
Earlier this year Lomond formed a partnership with oak frame builder Carpenter Oak & Woodland to facilitate projects where oak post and beam features are combined with timber frame panels.
It is also trialling an innovative new insulation system which dispenses with traditional insulation materials.
Dynamic Breathing Building technology in the form of Energflo cells fitted inside timber stud external walls warms ventilation air in winter, while allowing cool air to circulate during the summer.
