JELD-WEN is now producing wood veneer doors to an over-veneer specification.

The new specification involves the veneer being pressed over both the timber frame and complementing hardwood lipping edges. The veneer faces are then multi-coat lacquered, ensuring door edges match with the face veneer.

JELD-WEN product manager Chris Miller said strong market demand existed for these types of doors as they combined the beauty of real wood with no visible edgings.

Softwood instead of the existing hardwood stiles are used in the new over-veneer specification.

The products, available as FD30 and FD60 doors, are being manufactured in the same finishes as the company’s real wood veneered range.
