Last month PTG Treatments opened a new service treatment facility at Shoreham, its sixth centre in the UK.

The new plant, which offers high-pressure treatments using Arch Timber Protection’s Tanalith E, is located close to the port and PTG provides a collection service to the site.

“We’re effectively on the port from a logistics point of view,” said PTG managing director Neil Ryan.

He said the facility had already attracted a lot of business, the majority of which is new customers.

“A lot of people were bringing in pre-treated timber because there hasn’t been a facility at Shoreham. We’re hoping we can give people more flexibility so they can bring in untreated timber,” said Mr Ryan.

PTG offers a 24- to 48-hour turnaround and, with two treatment vessels, a full range of treatments, including a 15-year guarantee for ground contact timbers.
