RKL Plywood has announced that its Chinese supplier factory has achieved FSC chain of custody certification.
The certification follows the RKL’s achievement earlier this year of becoming the first UK plywood importer to gain TRADA Q-Mark certification for Chinese plywood.
RKL director Geraint Hawkes said the factory’s chain of custody status meant the company was now one step closer to achieving FSC certification for the Q-Board itself, “which we hope to have in place in the near future.”
He said the Q-Board had been a success since its launch earlier this year.
The Q-Mark scheme was introduced by BM TRADA Certification as a response to a loss of confidence in the quality of products from Chinese plywood manufacturers and the appearance of CE marks on inferior products.
