Mayor of London Ken Livingstone has welcomed the launch of a tree strategy for the city, saying he wants every Londoner to have access to trees and woodland.
The London Tree and Woodland Framework, an initiative by the London Woodland Advisory Group, provides a strategic direction for maintaining and improving the capital’s seven million trees.
The framework states that green spaces must be incorporated into new developments because they provide an attractive environment for business, leisure and tourism, as well as benefiting health and well-being.
