Television hard man actor Ross Kemp has invited representatives of the timber trade for a highlights screening of his acclaimed documentary on saving the Amazon rainforest.

Highlights from Kemp’s two-part documentary Ross Kemp: Battle for the Amazon will be screened at the RICS on October 19 and followed by a panel discussion on climate change and the future of the rainforest hosted by Greg Barker, minister for energy and climate change.

The panel will also include a senior Sky TV executive and WWF UK’s chief executive David Nussbaum. Sky and WWF have joined together to create Sky Rainforest Rescue – a three-year project to help save one billion trees in Acre, northwest Brazil.

Kemp will also share his experiences investigating the socio-economic and environmental pressures facing the Amazon region.
