Swedish sawmiller Stenvalls Trä AB is to buy land and plant in Lövholmen from state forester Sveaskog.

Stenvalls has leased part of the site since April in order to increase its processing capacity.

“We will invest in equipment and expect over the next year to expand operations in Lövholmen from one to two shifts,” said Stenvalls’ head of marketing Folke Stenvall.

“This agreement is very positive,” said Roger Johnansson, Sveaskog marketing manager. “Stenvalls can expand their business and develop the site, with more jobs.

The Lövholmen site’s boiler and dryers will also help Stenvalls expand operations at its Sikfors mill. Stenvalls also has a mill at Luleå.
