Woodwise Academy, which provides training for school pupils, apprentices and woodworking employees in Bristol, is running Alphacam design and machining software.
The academy has all types of equipment, including wall saw, edgebander and CNC machines. Alphacam is used to drive the 3-axis CNC routing machine on which trainees learn how to produce a drawing on the system, add the toolpaths and produce the CNC code.
Alphacam area manager Shaun Boit said 85% of woodworking CNC machines are driven by Alphacam.
The Alphacam courses include producing geometry, adding and editing toolpaths, adding dimensions, loading of programs, tooling selection and feed speeds, and health and safety requirements.
