There was standing room only at the workshops on Joinerysoft’s stand, as visitors were shown how its software could calculate window U-values required to meet the newly-updated Building Regulations.

Joinerysoft’s marketing manager Kirsten Turner said the U-value calculations added to its Joinery Management Software (JMS) were a big selling point as they could save customers time and money. But she said many joiners were still not aware of the tighter new rules.

“Our software is designed for bespoke joinery and removes the need for testing which is expensive and impractical for joiners where every job is different,” said managing director Alan Turner.

Joinerysoft plans to go one step further by working with the British Woodworking Federation to issue certificates of U-value compliance for JMS users.

The new version of JMS, out soon, has also been updated to include cross-section and 3D modelling capabilities, which help workshop joiners and customers to check that the correct profile has been selected.
