Employees of Kronospan UK have cycled into the record books for a second time by raising over £3,000 for the British Heart Foundation.
The employees, who took part in the sponsored Mere Shields 65-mile bike ride, raised the most money out of any team which took place in the event last year. Kronospan had taken the honour the previous year.
In an award ceremony at the Chirk site, the British Heart Foundation acknowledged the achievement by presenting Kronospan with the Mere Cycle Shield.
Kronospan works director and keen cyclist Mick Ramsey said: “It is wonderful to have won the shield twice in a row and spurred on by this success we are hoping to make it a hat trick by entering again this year.”
