Louisiana-Pacific Corporation (LP) has reported a US$16m third quarter operating loss from sales of US323m.
But the OSB and engineered wood products manufacturer managed to register an operating profit of US$10m for the first nine months.
LP’s OSB division incurred a US$5m loss from US$140m sales in the third quarter, with sales volumes up 4% and prices increasing by 9%, compared to a year ago.
The siding division recorded an operating profit of US$9m from US$104m.
Losses in the engineered wood product business, comprising I-joists, LVL and LSL, narrowed to US$5m from US$38m sales.
