The Sarawak Timber Industry Development Council (STIDC), logging firms and government agencies say their efforts to reduce fatalities in the logging industry are beginning to pay off.
STIDC acting deputy general manager Rabani Taip said the number of fatal cases dropped to 17 last year, compared to 50 in 1999 and 40 in 2000.
