Supply chain tracking sofware specialist Helveta has won the Vision and Growth Potential prize in the 2010 Cleantech Connect awards.
Cleantech is described by the organisers as new technology that “offers competitive returns for investors and customers while providing solutions to global challenges”.
According to the Award organisers, Helveta’s CI World software won because “for the first time anywhere it provided a chain of custody [software] system for the global hardwood industry”.
As regulation of the sector increases, they added, the company “is perfectly positioned to capture a large share of the market”.
UK-based Helveta is a past winner of the TTJ Environmental Achievement Award for its work with The Forest Trust (TFT) to establish chain of custody systems in West Africa.
Earlier this year it was ranked 11 in the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 rankings.
Chief executive Patrick Newton said the Cleantech award “substantiates the tremendous advance experienced by Helveta helping tropical timber producers manage their end-to-end supply chains”.
