Howard Morris, a former director at Norbord, has returned to the timber trade with his appointment as general manger/business development at TFS Ltd in Warrington.
During his time at Norbord Mr Morris was heavily involved in establishing Sterling OSB in the UK. He then moved to Weyerhaeuser UK and subsequently set up his own sales agency before spending a decade in the plasterboard industry helping Knauf Gmbh to become a leading supplier in the UK construction market. He also completed an MBA.
A brief spell as a primary school teacher was brought to an end when he joined insulation and interiors distributor SIG plc in 2005 where he focused on strategic planning and acquisitions, eventually becoming sales director of the Specialist Insulation Division.
Jean Richardson, managing director of TFS Ltd, which produces peel-off protective floor films and coatings, said she had tracked Mr Morris’s career for 25 years. “He brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the company which will help us to take TFS Ltd forward in what have been tough times for everyone,” she said.
