Sierra Pacific Industries will reopen its main sawmill in Tuolumne County, California in May.

The mill, closed in mid-2009 because of low demand and issues over log supplies, will reopen following an investment which will enable the facility to cut small-diameter logs.

Sierra Pacific produces lumber from a variety of species including, ponderosa and sugar pine, Douglas fir, incense-cedar, California white fir and western hemlock.

The company also makes mouldings, windows and doors, fencing and poles and house logs.
