About 79,000 acres of timberland in western Louisiana is to be sold by Boise Cascade Corporation for US$84m.
The purchase by Boston-based Hancock Timber Resource Group is expected to be finalised by the end of March.
Boise continues to own or control some 610,000 acres of timberland in the state and a total of more than 2 million acres across the US.
