Osmose Timber Technologies had architects and other specifiers in its sights with a prominent display on the Greenguard Children & Schools Certification of its MicroPro micronised copper preservative range.
The US Greenguard stamp of approval, which was issued to the company last September, means that MicroPro-treated timber has undergone exhaustive volatile organic compound emissions testing and judged to be safe for schools, playgrounds and other “sensitive environments” where low-emitting products are demanded.
“The US is a very safety and environment sensitive market and Greenguard is a very rigorous and sought-after approval system,” said European marketing manager Andy Hodge. “I think it will give MicroPro a strong advantage for use in schools on decking, playground equipment and other wood products.”
On its stand in the Timber Works area, Osmose also highlighted its MicroShades pigmented variation on the MicroPro theme. Products treated with these are now being rolled out in B&Q stores across the UK.
