James Hulse has joined the Forest Footprint Disclosure project and will become its full-time director from May 1. He will replace part-time director Tracey Campbell, who has worked with the project for the last 18 months.

Mr Hulse has worked as a trader and fund manager in the financial markets for almost 20 years. In 2005 he was a co-founder of the Cumulus hedge fund, looking at weather and climate related themes including carbon credits, commodities and equities. His work included looking at how weather and climate change affected demand and supply for various products, including forestry-related commodities such as palm oil and biofuels.

More recently he has acted as a consultant in various projects including capital introduction for forestry companies and a renewable energy company.
