British Woodworking Federation (BWF) members have filled all allocated places on a CNC training course.
The BWF has secured funding from ConstructionSkills for a number of places on the five-day course, which is aimed at helping apprentices and experienced operators expand their knowledge in CNC programming and operation.
The course, being held at woodworking machinery manufacturer SCM’s UK training centre in Nottingham, was put together after pressure from the National Association of Shopfitters highlighted the absence of CNC training within the apprenticeship framework.
“While the course is now fully booked we are still compiling a waiting list for this year in case places do become available, and we will be inviting new bookings for 2012 later this year,” said Dave Campbell, training manager of the WITForum, the BWF’s training arm.
The course is being held once a month until the end of 2011.
